Attorney Kelly C. Nickel
Attorney Kelly C. Nickel practices family law, civil litigation, mediation, and simple estate planning. She also takes appointments from the court as a Guardian ad Litem, to represent the best interests of children. Attorney Nickel has maintained a law practice in Walworth County since her graduation from Marquette Law School in 1999. Attorney Nickel's practice frequently brings her before the circuit courts of Walworth, Waukesha, Jefferson, Racine, Rock, and Kenosha counties. She also enjoys a successful appellate practice. She has successfully represented clients in several actions before the Wisconsin Court of Appeals. Ms. Nickel is also a respected family law practitioner having earned client trust through her compassionate advocacy and thorough knowledge of Wisconsin law.
Attorney Nickel has always been an active member of the Walworth County Bar Association, serving as its President in 2006. In 2006, she was elected to the State Bar of Wisconsin Board of Governors, where she served two full terms. In 2011, she was elected to serve as the Treasurer of the State Bar of Wisconsin. Attorney Nickel then was elected as a State Bar delegate to the American Bar Association House of Delegates. Attorney Nickel continues to participate in Bar activities, including frequently serving as a judge in Mock Trial competitions.
Attorney Nickel is admitted to practice before all courts of the State of Wisconsin, and before the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Wisconsin.
Attorney Nickel is a long-time resident of Lake Geneva, where she enjoys all the benefits of living close to a beautiful lake, as well as the charm and amenities of the quaint downtown. In her spare time, she has, with varied records of wins and losses, coached youth basketball and youth baseball. Thankfully, her children's sporting accomplishments have exceeded her coaching abilities and she has retired from coaching. For five years, Atty. Nickel was a proud Cub Scout Den Leader in Pack 239, and for two years, she was honored to serve as the Cub Master.
